Ken Moynihan, founding Director of CoveKinloch has retired from the business in March 2026. Ken formed the business in 2002 with Peter Bamford.

Ken is an Engineer with a construction and project management background. Originally from Cove (Cobh), County Cork, Ireland, he emigrated in 1995 to New Zealand with his wife and two children, following eleven years in Durban, South Africa.

Ken and Peter worked together for Joyce Group Ltd prior to forming CoveKinloch. Together they grew the company substantially, divesting its building warrant of fitness business in 2021. Today CoveKinloch is one of New Zealand’s leading building consulting and fire engineering practices, with offices in Wellington and Auckland.

Ken’s contribution to the business has been enormous. His project management approach to multiple business-related projects, intuition and risk management skills have left the business in a strong and stable position to continue well into the future.

Peter Bamford remains the Sole Director and is being joined as a shareholder by four Senior Associates currently working within the business.
