Westfield – Building Compliance
- Client: Westfield New Zealand
- Location: Auckland, Hamilton, Lower Hutt & Christchurch.
- Building Type: A total of 18 buildings, some of which are New Zealand’s largest shopping centres, housing retail, food and offices with over 1430 retail shops and in excess of 380 thousand square metres of floor space.
- Project Scope:
With in excess of 40 million visitors annually to its shopping complexes, Westfield has chosen to outsource their building compliance to a specialist company capable of delivering consistent services on a national basis. Our service includes monthly owner inspections, building manual and compliance schedule management, the calling for and collating of Form 12A Certificates from Westfield employed contractors, annual IQP inspections, liaising with the local authorities, providing technical building compliance support and advice and issuance of the building’s warrants of fitness.
- Project Delivery:
Westfield went to the market in 2010 and procured CoveKinloch New Zealand Ltd to deliver building compliance services. Lance Johns, Westfield’s National Facilities Manager, has since extended our contract to 2016. Our client receives more than just a pure compliance service, with in-depth fire engineering advice and assistance when the unexpected happens, such as the Christchurch earthquakes.
